Armstrong hospital, Highmark reach contract agreement

Highmark Inc. and Armstrong County Memorial Hospital on Monday announced a multi-year contract extension.

The new agreement builds on the insurer’s existing relationship with the hospital and benefits Highmark members in the Armstrong County area by providing in-network access to the hospital and doctors. Further details were not available.

“As health care costs continue to rise, we need to continue to work with all health care providers to reach mutually acceptable agreements that are in the community’s best interests,” Highmark Health Markets President Michael Fiaschetti said in a prepared statement. “We are glad to have achieved this goal with Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.”
