Individual health insurance plan sales continued to rise for Highmark for the period ending Feb. 12, the insurer reported.
Highmark’s total individual enrollment for Pennsylvania was 92,075; West Virginia, 11,937; and Delaware, 6,848. Most of the new members came from government online marketplaces. Highmark continues to see growth of its narrow provider network plan in Pennsylvania. Community Blue plans account for 76 percent of individual plan sales.
In addition, the insurer said many of the sales were new members, indicating they were previously uninsured or insured by a competitor. In Pennsylvania, 43 percent were new members; West Virginia, 57 percent; and Delaware, 60 percent.
