University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and Pittsburgh-based health insurer Highmark Inc. have dropped their antitrust lawsuits against each other, putting an end to the four-year-old litigation.

The two companies dismissed their lawsuits with prejudice, meaning they can never be filed again.
Highmark is the parent company of Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the region’s largest health insurance company.
