Health Net, Inc. today announced the appointment of Mike Klimansky as administrator of Health Net Access, Inc., the company’s new subsidiary providing Medicaid benefits to Maricopa County, Ariz. residents.

Klimansky’s career in health plan and health care administration includes more than 30 years of experience in executive management and operations of health care programs and services. Most recently, he served as director of business development for Preferred Homecare, a provider of home health care products and services in 10 states.

“I am pleased to welcome Mike to Health Net’s team,” said David Friedman, Health Net, Inc. vice president of State Health Programs. “His expertise and breadth of management experience in Arizona and with the Medicaid program will help ensure that Health Net Access provides comprehensive, affordable Medicaid benefits.”

Health Net Access was selected in March 2013 to provide Medicaid benefits in Maricopa County under the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). Health Net Access benefits are expected to become effective Oct. 1, 2013.

Klimansky will be based in Health Net’s Tempe, Ariz., office and report directly to Friedman.
